Funny Pumpkins

Maybe I have a twisted sense of humour but I love these pumpkins.

Guadalajara

I mentioned earlier that I had a business trip to Mexico. So here are some more photos.
This photo is for Lorie. It's a picture of my HAM friend, Brad. He is normally a die hard Buckeyes fan but for this night, he changed his shirt. OK, the colours are the same but he became a honorary Canadian in Mexico. Brad is a good friend, a supporter of those who are lucky to cross his path, the man with a true heart and the guy that makes sure that everyone is having a good time.
Brad is moving on to a new position which will mean that we won't see him as regularly, so this is my 'toast' to him. What more can I say ... Brad you are the best!

Mexico

The funny thing about this photo is that I don't drink beer ... wine, rum, vodka (no yellow parrots, but that is a long story from a pleasure trip to Playa de Carmen, Mexico that started out a good time and ended with a day of rest ... :) and not beer. So how do I explain this? It was someone else's beer (not buying that, huh) well, when in Rome do as the Romans do ... when in Mexico, drink Corona.
Nice hat, eh?

Honda de Mexico

OK, it wasn't all fun and games. Here are Jason, Danny & I at the Honda de Mexico plant. The associates in the background lined the driveway as our buses arrived. It was the greatest welcome I have ever felt.

Tree

This was an interesting tree that I saw in Tequila, Mexico.

Agave

This is an Agave plant. Did you know that Tequila is made from this plant? It is from the lily family (kind of reminds me of an Adams Needle).

I discovered that the best way to drink Tequila is with Grapefruit pop. Something my Takata friends taught me. In Canada, that is equal to Fresca. Trust me ... I brought home a good bottle of Jose Cuervo and have tested it.

Scorpion

I was walking in the Agave field and I noticed something move. I looked down and it was a scorpion. I took a picture and kept my distance. He kind of puts earwigs to shame.

Mexican Spider

Here is a real spider that I saw on a plant in an Agave field in Tequila, Mexico.

Notice the spikes on the plant. They are very sharp.

Snow

Here is my backyard. We had snow on October 21. It's way to early for winter, the leaves haven't even left the trees. Then it hailed on October 26. Brrrr!

This spider was made with Stampin' Up punches. It is sandwiched around a York Peppermint Patty. Great as a Halloween treat or you can make it 1 dimensional and use it as a scrapbook page embellishment or on a greeting card.

Tequila

I just returned from a business trip to Guadalajara with two quality circle members. I think this photo pretty much sums up how much I enjoyed myself.

Moderatto

These photos are of members of the band Moderatto. We ran into them at the Guadalajara airport. They had attended the 2008 MTV Latin America awards in Guadalajara on Oct. 16th.
They were signing autographs for the screaming girls and having pictures taken with anyone who asked. I took pictures of Jason & Danny with them.
I think they are a class-act. I love entertainers who appreciate their fans and recognize that this type of interaction helps them sell albums & concert tickets.

Their was another german band in the airport as well. They apparently didn't care to be recognized even though they did everything to stand out. I got a photo of them and was "spoken to" by their entourage (I thought the guy was going to grab my camera out of my handbag - he was in my face and I didn't understand what he was saying). I am not going to show that photo or mention their name because I figure if they want to be anonymous, I hope they get what they wish for. These guys were not class-acts.

The crew of Metallica was staying in the same hotel we stayed at but not the band.

Diaper Cake 2

Here is my second attempt at a diaper cake.
This time I used paper and ribbon around the layers and decorated with images created on my cricut.
