Must Try Food in Toronto

I found this website (the link is below) that lists the Top 100 Must-Try foods available in the Toronto area.
I think it would be fun to randomly select one and go give it a try.
There are a few selections that I find tempting like:
#11 Barbecued Corn
#34 Street dog
#38 Korean Walnut Cakes
#42 Jump-Up Soup
#46 Wiener Schnitzel
#56 Poutine
#63 Butter Tart
#87 Ontario Birch Syrup & Chesnut Ice Cream
#100 Veal Cutlet Sandwich

Happy Victoria Day

For the Victoria Day long weekend, my family took a trip to Ottawa. We had never been there before so we decided to attend the 2008 Tulip Festival. Seeing as both my parents immigrated to Canada from Holland, it was about time I went. It rained on the way down and part of the way home but the weather cooperated while we were there. What more can you ask for? It was a great time. We were walking distance from all of the attractions and took in as much as we could. I have included a few photos below.
The Tulip Festival includes exhibits from countries all over the world. We had a passport that allowed us to sample foods from the countries featured and we enjoyed specialties from Holland, China, Mexico, Peru, Germany & Indonesia. It was alot of fun.

Tulips

These were my favourite tulips!

Dillon and I tried making Origami Tulips.
I have to try this with patterned paper!

Here are some of the decorated tulips we saw at the Tulip Festival.
There were tons of them.

Time Well Spent

Images copyright 1990-2008 Stampin' Up!

A Stampin' Up project using Time Well Spent. The edges of the flower and the word "Friends" were accented with the Versamarker. The stamen of the flower were punched and then accented from behind with scallop punch using yellow.

The paper is Kraft which I forget to use.

Sweet Celebrations

This project is from the Stampin' Up Customer webpage. It features circle & scallop punches. I used the Sweet Celebrations stamp set for the centre of the flower.

One of a Kind

In Colour Combo featuring One of a Kind stamp set.

The large flower was stamped on Bashful blue and then highlighted with Brilliant Blue Watercolor Crayon.

Happy Day

Images copyright 1990-2008 Stampin' Up!
It was impossible to get a straight scan with all the embellishments on this card.
The flower and sentiment are rub-ons from Sale-a-Bration.
The white on black is very striking.
The clear button has a punched circle of Designer Series paper attached to the back.

You make me smile

This card was made with the rub-ons from Sale-a Bration. Even the jumbo brad has a rub-on butterfly applied to the top.

I like the intense colour you get from the rub-ons.

Baby Shower Card

Images copyright 1990-2008 Stampin' Up!

Here is a card I made for a baby shower I am attending. I already know that the baby is a little boy which made it easier for colour choice.

The stamp set (Bundle of Joy) is retired but Bundled in Love, in the current catalogue, would work just as well. The sentiment a Sale-a-Bration limited edition set.

How do you make an Easter Card with no Easter stamps?
Answer: Pull out your coluzzle and create an 'Egg' card.
Decorate as you wish.

Egg Wishes

Images copyright 1990-2008 Stampin' Up!

The following three cards are the entries I sent in for the February Easter Wishes contest category in the Stampin' Success magazine. The April issue says that no entries were received so I have to guess that they did not make it there in time or they were lost in the mail (Boo hoo).

Too bad ... I really liked this one.

I didn't have an easter stamp set so I decided to use the centre of the "O" from my chipboard letters to make the egg shape and paired it up with the bird from "A Little Birdie Told Me".

Card with Jumbo Clip Bookmark

Images copyright 1990-2008 Stampin' Up!

The Bookmark was made with Chipboard pieces covered with paper (the ears are petal pieces). Then the edges were sponged. The centres of the ears were made with the oval punch and the other facial features were made with circle punches.
